I know, the wait for Ark Survival Ascended has almost been unbearable. However, I have bad news if you’re a console player looking forward to playing Ark Survival Ascended.
If you’re like I was a few days ago and don’t know what Ark Survival Ascended is, it’s a remaster of Ark Survival Evolved. It’s graphically enhanced, now in Unreal Engine 5, and it includes almost everything from Evolved including DLC.
Ark Survival Ascended console release date, explained
As a surprise to basically everyone, Studio Wildcard honored their name by shadow-dropping Ark Survival Ascended on October 25, 2023. However, Ark Survival Ascended is currently only released on PC via Steam. It’s not even on Epic Games Store yet which adds more salt to the wound.
As far as we know, Ark Survival Ascended will release on consoles in November. This information is found in the description of the official ASA launch trailer brought to us by Studio Wildcard. An official date is not listed, and I wouldn’t put it past Studio Wildcard to delay the console release.
For now, if you plan on playing Ark Survival Ascended on console, know that you’ll have to wait til November at the latest. At least you can take comfort in knowing that ASA will likely come to Game Pass and the game has cross-progression.
According to the Ark Survival Ascended developer blog post, they discovered a multiplayer issue on consoles that would have had “major implications for the console versions.” In the meantime, Studio Wildcard will split the team into two groups: one on the PC launch and one on the patch for the console version. It isn’t great news, but at least we know ASA on consoles will come very soon.
Is Ark Survival Ascended only available for next-gen consoles?
Nowhere in my research did I discover that Ark Survival Ascended is available on Xbox One or PlayStation 4. Considering the PC requirements for ASA are pretty demanding, I don’t think Ark Survival Ascended will be available on PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch.
What platforms is Ark Survival Ascended available on?
