You can collect Runeshards randomly as you complete these endgame activities upon making it to World Tier 4 since The Pit is only accessible on this World Tier. Runeshards are your keys for entering The Pit, so if you’re interested, you should start completing Whispers of the Dead, engage in the Helltide or Legion Events, or clear Nightmare Dungeons.

How to farm Runeshards in Diablo 4

Helltides and the Tree of Whispers bounties are probably the easiest ways to farm Runeshards since Helltides are consistently happening, and there are always new bounties to complete. You may also spot Legion Events and World Bosses popping up on your map. Go to those as often as possible since they can also drop Runeshards for you.

Once you collect some Runeshards, head over to the Obelisk in Cerrigar and open the portal to The Pit of Artificers. This Pit will allow you to slay hordes of monsters within a 10-minute time limit before you face a final boss. Each time you die, time gets taken off the clock, with even more time taken away with subsequent deaths.

If you manage to defeat the boss within the time limit, you earn a bevy of rewards and unlock the next tier of this dungeon. The Pit is great for collecting materials for the Masterworking system.
