In a new documentary-style video from the Zenimax Studios for The Elder Scrolls Online, the development team dig into some of the MMOs features including PvP, the “Megaserver” technology, combat and content.
This is an interesting video, and if anything, it highlights that ESO is not doing anything spectacularly different from other MMOs. The most exciting features talked about in the video are the Megaserver technology and PvP.
Whether it will pull players away from other MMOs such as World of Warcraft and Guild Wars 2 is up for debate, and as soon as the video starts, Game Director Matt Firor’s opening comments certainly indicate that they are aiming for a big share of the MMO audience.
ESO is going to have to do something pretty special for that to happen, but so far we’re not seeing it.
