In the latest move to consolidate servers and the player base in Star Wars: The Old Republic, Bioware has revealed that they are closing the Asia Pacific servers to consolidate the players.

This is actually good news for the community as whole, quiet servers are never great in any MMO and it means more players will be joining the West Coast North America servers. According to emails sent out to players this evening, they will be offered a ” free one-time transfer to any non-Asia Pacific server.” The server closure is expected to happen in the next couple of months according to Bioware.

Details on how players can transfer were also included in the email which was picked up by the guys at TORWars, so if you are affected by this, make sure you read the full email.
