Bioware: A Mass Effect MMO ‘makes sense’

Mass Effect’s Executive Producer says that a MMO set in Commander Shepard’s universe would make sense.
Speaking in the latest edition of Game Informer magazine, Exec Producer Casey Hudson says that they still haven’t found a way of implementing worthwhile multiplayer elements into Mass Effect 3 but that an MMO could work.
A lot of people say that they want to see an MMO, I think that kind of makes sense for this universe,” said Hudson. “Part of what you’re trying to do is save the universe so you can live in it. That’s part of the promise, I think, for any great IP. It has to be a world worth saving…
“I think Mass Effect has that quality to it. If you get rid of the Reapers and win that, wouldn’t it be amazing to just live on the Citadel or just take a ship to Omega? That makes sense.”
BioWare are already working on the MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic, which is due for release later this year (keep an eye out for our hands-on preview later this month).
Mass Effect 3 is due for release towards the end of this year on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
