BlizzCon 2010 Could Be In Vegas

In a change from the norm, it seems that next year’s Blizzcon will be held in the Las Vegas Convention Center in July. There is no official confirmation from Blizzard yet, but a listing on the Las Vegas Convention and Visitor’s Authority website outlines the booking as follows:

BlizzCon 2010
Venue: Las Vegas Convention Center
Start Date: 07/30/2010
End Date: 07/31/2010
Attendees: 30,000

Previous Blizzcons have been held at the Anaheim Convention Centre, which were handy for Blizzard employees, as their HQ isn’t far away. But the Vegas convention centre is slightly bigger – though not much – and is more central. The new earlier date for this BlizzCon is noteworthy too; this year’s event was in August and in 2008 it was held in October.

The July date also seems to rule out the chance of another Worldwide Invitational. The last one of those was in Paris last year.
