Bethesda Softworks has released The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall as a free download.The second in the Elder Scrolls series, which went on to father megahits Morrowind and Oblivion, has been released for free on the Elder Scrolls website.This is an untouched and unedited version so you’ll likely need DOSBox to get it running properly, but the installation instructions on the site should give you the help you need.We remember playing Daggerfall in our misspent youth. Specifically, we remember getting to the titular city and jumping a foot when the ghost king attacked us. We then turned it off and never played again.Still, it’s the biggest game in the Elder Scrolls series, despite random generation of areas and dungeons making it a tad repetitive at times. It’s still worth a look, though.
