Fifa 12’s Ultimate Team has as many players as SWTOR

Sales numbers for the wonderful Fifa 12 have gone past the 10 million mark, EA has announced. The football (that’s soccer if you’re in the land of foot longs) game was achieved the figure in an impressively short time, having only been released last September.
By comparision, EA’s Madden NFL 12 was released in August and has sold five million.
Further, Fifa 12’s Ultimate Team trading card game has now made in excess of $13 million. The publisher claims that over two million are “actively engaged” in Ultimate Team and over 51 million trades have been made between players.
Two million users puts the Ultimate Team section of Fifa 12 alone in the same bracket as the number of people playing the entirety of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Recent figures from EA suggest that roughly two million are also playing the BioWare MMO.
