More In-Game Adverts Coming To PC and Xbox 360

Microsoft owned Massive Inc. will be incorporating in-game adverts to a host of titles on PC and Xbox 360.Posting on his official blog last week, JJ Richards, general manager of Massive Inc confirmed the news, also saying the company is talking to “other key publisher partners including Ubisoft, 2K Sports, and Blizzard Entertainment with several titles slated for release in 2010.”According to Richards, the adverts will “engage the highly coveted male 18-34 demographic in a more efficient and less interruptive manner than traditional TV ads.”Along with the PC and 360 titles, Massive will provide exclusive advertising to Blizzard’s new Battle.net program which will launch with StarCraft II in 2010.It seems in-game adverts are becoming more and more frequent within the games market. President Obama ran election campaigns in Burnout, while the Xbox 360 received ads on the dashboard. PS3 title Wipeout HD is one of the more recent titles to also featured in-game ads.A full list of titles involved in the advertising can be found below:Madden NFL 10NHL 10NBA Live 10Need For Speed ShiftGuitar Hero 5DJ HeroBand HeroTony Hawk: RIDEBlurUFC 2009 UndisputedMX vs. ATV ReflexWhat are your thoughts on in-game ads?
