SimCity’s return confirmed at GDC [Video]

Rumours had been circulating about the return of Sim City since the end of last month, and today at the Game Developer’s Conference those whispers were confirmed. Maxis and EA revealed that SimCity (no 5 or V, but no spaces either) would be coming back to the PC, and, it seems, only the PC, in 2013.
This time around, your cities will be able to co-exist with those of other players; meaning you’ll either be able to be a fine upstanding citizen and share fire engines, or be an arse and let your pollution woft over to their playgrounds. As ever, resources and natural disasters will have major roles to play.
“This is a franchise that means the world to us at Maxis and we’re happy to be bringing it back home,” says Senior Vice President of EA’s Maxis label Lucy Bradshaw.
Enjoy the launch trailer (and note the “not representative of actual gameplay” smallprint), below. More details, such as in-game screenshots, are sure to emerge in the coming days and weeks.
