The PC title debuted top of the all formats software chart and is the fourth biggest UK opening week ever.

In total, the Sims franchise has sold over 100 million units globally since February 2000, when the original Sims game was released.

Rod Humble, head of the EA Play label said the press awards, good reviews and positive feedback has made the team “thrilled with the success of The Sims 3 launch and the early sales indicate that we have another hit on our hands.”

We’ll have our review of the title soon, and you’ll be happy to hear we’ve simulated the IncGamers office, with Tamer, Andy and Tim as the stars of the show.  Keep your eyes peeled and we’ll see how the guys do in the virtual world.
