Arkane’s new project is Dishonored

Excellent news for anybody who’s been wondering what Arkane have been up to since being purchased by Bethesda; the answer is Dishonored.
The developers of Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah have brought in some pretty big names to help out, too. Harvey Smith (of Deus Ex fame) is co-creative director along with Arx Fatalis’ Raphael Colantonio, and the chap behind the visual design of Half-Life 2’s City 17 (Viktor Antonov) is along for the ride too.
There’s not much game-specific detail in the press release issued by Bethesda (besides it being a first-person action title), but Game Informer have a broad overview which says: “It’s a game about assassination where you don’t have to kill anyone … It’s a game about morality and player choice where the world you create is based on your actions, not navigating conversation trees.” Ooh. And indeed, ahhh.
Sounds pretty interesting to me.
Dishonored will be coming in 2012 for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
