Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4‘s press is apparently starting to kick off now, what with a tentative release window, a trailer offering some in-engine footage, and this latest character reveal. I’m not going to go into details on the relevance Rin has to the Naruto plot because spoilers, but she was part of Kakashi’s childhood team, along with Obito. The three of them will be showcased in the Story mode during the “Boys’ Life Story” chapter, apparently, so she won’t just be an unimportant bonus character tacked onto Versus mode.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is due out this autumn.
