Nvidia Reports Q4 Profit On GPUs, Especially GeForce

Nvidia has reported a succesful Q4, based not on sales of their mobile or cloud based processors, but their long standing bread and butter, the GPU business.

While their Quadro workstation and Tesla supercomputer GPUs take some credit, they really made the most money on their GeForce line of consumer GPUs for gaming PCs.

This may surprise some observers, who expected integrated GPUs to catch up and eat at those sales. Instead, this was counterbalanced by higher than expected sales for the more high end Titan and GTX series GPUs. In fact, not only did Nvidia post 50 % higher GTX sales year on year, but it also offset lower than expected sales for mobile. Looks like the Post PC era hasn’t arrived for Nvidia quite yet.
