Unless this whole thing is an incredibly devious campaign of misdirection, Obsidian are leading up to an official Pillars of Eternity 2 announcement. Teaser images started appearing on their site last week, and so far every single one of them has referenced Pillars in some way.
Specifically, they’ve been referencing companion characters from the first game. The initial image (pipe, ear of corn, Eothas quote) was a nod to Edér, and the second (citing the Leaden Key) was probably a reference to Aloth.
Over the last couple of days, two more images have gone up. Friday’s featured a feather and the Brotherhood of the Five Suns logo, implying that Pallegina will be back too. Today’s is harder to decipher, and looks like the first to reference a character who wasn’t in the original game. It shows a pair of cannons over a fish, with the quote “Gunships, cannons, and the hazanui’s will. If any order can come to this wretched stretch of brine and savagery, we shall be the ones to bring it.”
