Originally scheduled for patch 2.6.2 which does not have a released date, Chris Roberts has said today that the launch of regional servers has been moved up to patch 2.6.1.

“Thanks to the great work by the Live Ops, Backend and UI teams, we’re moving up the release of the Regional Servers to 2.6.1, so players will be able to choose which server (North America, Europe, or Australia) they join to ensure the best connection possible. Once these are running, we’ll be able to run more tests to assess whether more locations will be needed.”

Patch 2.6.1 is scheduled to hit around 16 February based on the development schedule timeline and they are still ironing out stability and UI issues. It’s good to see a feature being moved up the schedule instead of being pushed back, This will please players suffering from terrible long distance connections.
