AMD has revealed that the AMD Ryzen 7 processors which will be available from 2 March.
The processors will come in 1800X ($499), 1700X ($399), and 1700 ($329) forms and all feature 8 cores and 16 threads. AMD CEO Lisa Su demonstrated the new processors with a presentation which explains the process of development and their goals for the Ryzen CPU.
The 1700X is the CPU AMD are hoping gamers will embrace.
The Ryzen 1800X is the next CPU up the chain and it can be boosted from 3.6Ghz to 4Ghz. With the right setup, Su also says it can be taken higher than this. In the video below you can see the 1800X going head to head with Intel in a 3D model demonstration.
The video also comes with a Sniper Elite 4 demo featuring Ryzen 7 1800X running in 4K. The aim is to have the CPU keeping up with the GPU.
