GWENT will have a story mode called Thronebreaker

CD Projekt’s GWENT is going to have a single player story mode, for those who want to toss some cards around with the AI. You’ll be playing as Meve, a veteran Northern Queen forced back to war. At least, you’ll play as her in the abstract. It’ll still be all about the cards.

That said, the single player story is promising “never before seen parts of the Witcher world” and custom story battles that subvert the GWENT rules in various unspecified ways. Basically, you won’t be playing regular games throughout this mode.

That’s about it in terms of information, but there is a trailer as well (below). GWENT is currently in open beta and you can sign up to play here (the story mode isn’t in yet, that’ll come at launch later in 2017).
