Microsoft has finally announced a release date for the Age of Empires: Definitive Edition.

Age of Empires: Definitive Edition was expected to release late last year following its announcement in June but frustratingly for fans of the series it was delayed. This remaster of the first Age of Empires game comes with new features such as 4K assets, a re-recorded soundtrack, narration for every mission, an enhanced campaign and scenario editor, and online and LAN play.

The game’s delay was apparently due to the team wanting to get the improved mini-map into shape and also add features such as an in-game tech tree.

There is a kicker though, this is a Windows 10 store release and even some ardent fans may disapprove of this decision. If you are wanting to take the plunge, Age of Empires: Definitive Edition will now be released on 20 February priced at $19,99.
