Insomniac Explain The Absence of Overstrike At E3

Recommended Videos

Back at E3 2011 Insomniac revealed their new multi-platform title Overstrike and followed up with a trailer. Yet E3 2012 came and went, with no appearance from Overstrike at all.

When EA were questioned about the absence of Overstike at E3 2012 their Labels president, Frank Gibeau, explained:

“We’re very excited about Overstrike. It’s a new IP and we want to make it the right game, so they’re taking some extra time to nail the gameplay and the quality.”

Often an explanation of this kind can actually mean there are development problems, however this does not appear to be the case, as Frank Gibeau continued:

“It felt like we would stand out better later in the summer once we’ve hit some key milestones and we’re able to show off more.”

So there we have it, they are taking some extra time to make sure the game is high quality, while also passing on E3 so as to not be overshadowed by other titles.

Also it shouldn’t be too much longer until we get to see some more of Overstrike.
