Battlestar Galactica Deadlock: Resurrection rises on August 29

From the ashes of Sin and Sacrifice

Battlestar Galactica Deadlock launched back in 2017 to an above-average reception, as per our review. It has gained four DLCs since then, with three of them including new storylines. Today, developer Black Lab Games and publisher Slitherine have announced an all-new major expansion, Battlestar Galactica Deadlock: Resurrection. The developers refer to it as Season Two of Battlestar Galactica Deadlock, in keeping with the game’s source material.

Following the dramatic ending to the last DLC, Sin and Sacrifice, the Colonies are in disarray, and there is no strong leadership. However, humans never give up. Resurrection marks the start of a new season of battles, stories, and challenges in the Battlestar Galactica universe. The Colonies must forge a new headquarters to replace their lost mother base. And so the Battlestar Galactica battleship will launch a counterattack on the Toasters. As you can see in the trailer below, there will be plenty of space battles against the Cylon.

Resurrection features and content

This new DLC features a new story campaign, where players will face Cylon threats both old and new. You’ll also battle side-by-side with the Galactica crew. The campaign includes ten fully-voiced story missions, plus thirteen resource missions where you can scout for intel before you commit your forces.

There’s also a new war room, where the Ministry of Defense will rely on Galactica to lead the counter-offensive against the Cylons. You’ll be able to organize and command BSG-75 starting with a meticulous reconstruction of the famous Galactica CIC. The DLC includes a new strategy layer that allows players to focus on the fights that matter. There are also Cylon Threat mechanic measures that impact on the First Cylon War.

Of course, you have new ships, such as the Jupiter Mk II, which boasts plenty of firepower and armor as the most impressive vessel in the war. Cylon Command will also exploit the raw firepower of the rare Cratus-class Basestar, a behemoth of a ship that serves as a mobile operational base as well.

New squadrons are also part of the DLC, with the Colonials showing off a retrofitted fighter design with a mysterious origin. They are dubbed the Taipan, hardy fighters with heavy-hitting anti-capital strike vehicles. The Cylons have developed the Vespid, a swarm of dedicated bombers that close the distance between them and enemies quickly, releasing high-yield explosives on targets.

Command update

As the first DLC of Season Two, Battlestar Galactica Deadlock: Resurrection includes a hefty free update for the base game. It delivers a great number of quality-of-life improvements, such as a game-changing multi-select control scheme for keyboard and mouse. The UI also has improvements to allow players to give orders to fleets faster and in an easier way. The update revamps the projectile systems, and a new full-screen effects system refreshes the look of battles in-game. It certainly looks like the game still has a lot to offer in post-release support for fans.

Battlestar Galactica Deadlock: Resurrection will launch on August 29 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. You can already wishlist the DLC on Steam.
