It’s the 2nd holiday season for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and it what seems to be no coincidence, PSN and XBL are down for the 2nd year in a row.
Once again taking responsibility for the attacks, just like last year, is a hacker group named Lizard Squad. In a strange turn of events, Kim Dotcom claims to have neutralized the group by offering them MegaVouchers. This move seems to have partly worked, as many parts of Xbox Live’s service are operational, but Sony is still struggling to get PSN services back up.
Update: We are working to restore full network services for all platforms – thanks, as always, for your patience!

This follows not only a spate of DDoS attacks by Lizard Squad of both services, and other game company servers, in the prior months, but a major hack of Sony Pictures themselves, the ramifications of which are still being felt.
