Rise of the Tomb Raider Now Supports DirectX 12

Rise of the Tomb Raider, the recent prequel to 2013’s Tomb Raider, was quite a good game. However, one issue that arose in our review of the title was a noticeable performance hit with higher settings, even with decent GPUs. Thankfully, Crystal Dynamics, developer of Rise of the Tomb Raider, annouced that DirectX 12 support for the game will be available today on Steam, and coming soon to the Windows 10 store.

DirectX 12 will spread processes out across all the CPU cores without any additional overhead, leading to higher settings, with higher framerates.

If you’re a Nvidia user, then the update is already available with Nvidia’s Geforce Game Ready Driver.

We’re excited to see DirectX 12 be integrated into Rise of the Tomb Raider, and hopefully, more titles will follow suit. If you wanna learn about all the details of DirectX 12 integration into ROTTR, head over to the Dev Blog of the game to hear all about it.
