At this point in the year, I think I’ve written more “[insert game name here] is delayed” articles than I can count. And it’s not a trend that’s going out of style anytime soon. Earlier today, we got word from developer Techland that Dying Light 2 Stay Human has been delayed. Originally scheduled for December 7 this year, the game’s new release date is February 4, 2022.
The game is finished, according to a message sent out to the community. Techland is doing some finishing touches, such as polishing and conducting playtests. However, the team writes that it needs more time to “bring the game to the level we envision.” As such, Dying Light 2 Stay Human has been delayed for a couple short months. But that doesn’t mean the end of fresh reveals and info. The company is planning some preview events
“We are sorry to keep you all waiting a little longer, but we want the game to meet your highest expectations on release and we don’t want to compromise on this,” writes Techland CEO PaweÅ‚ Marchewka in a community message. “However, you won’t have to wait too long to get a deeper look at Dying Light 2 Stay Human. Next month, both press and content creators will get their hands on PC and console versions of the game during the upcoming series of preview events around the world. They’ll be able to share their experiences of The City with you.”

Dying for more
Dying Light 2 hasn’t been the only game this week to get hit by a delay. Yesterday, Sega and Creative Assembly announced that Total War: Warhammer III has been pushed into early next year. And, like Techland, Creative Assembly promised that more details for the game are on the way. Earlier today, the development team unveiled Grand Cathay. We’ll likely hear a lot more about both games within the next couple of months.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human is scheduled to release at its new date of February 4, 2022. There are a lot of games coming out that month.
