Sega make Q1 loss of £30million

Blames weak demand for games in US and Europe.
Sega have reported a £30 million loss in the their consumer division for the first quarter of its financial year 2011. The consumer business includes console and PC games.
In a financial statement Sega said: “In the home video game industry, the demand was generally weak in the US and European markets due to the headwind like sluggish personal consumption.”  
Problems were also cited in relation to the availabilty of parts, materials and electrivity supply following the Japanese earthquake this past March.
In total Sega sold 2.3 million games in Q1, a total far below that of the same period last year. Sales of Thor and Virtua Tennis 4 were particulary disappointing.
