Make Your PC Games Artistic with Nvidia Freestyle

If you’ve been wanting to spice up the look of your PC titles without risking bugging everything out with a graphics mod, then try the newly released Freestyle feature from Nvidia. If you have the latest version of GeForce Experience on your PC (3.12.0.73 at the time of this writing), then you can try this out now by enabling the ‘Experimental Features’ option in the application.

The new Freestyle feature has real-time post-processing features which can drastically change the look of supported titles.  One filter gives a game a pseudo-HDR look, for example. There are 15 filters and 38 different settings which can all be customized to your liking, so you can really fine-tune the new artistic style of your game (hence the name ‘Freestyle’). Of course, you’ll need a Nvidia GeForce GTX GPU to take advantage of this (sorry, AMD users).

Freestyle is very similar to other graphics-editors like SweetFX, ENB and ReShade. I’ve used those programs in games like Microsoft Flight Simulator X and American Truck Simulator, so I’m familiar with the benefits that these effects can bring to a game. It’s neat that Nvidia is trying to implement it natively on a driver level.

Are you excited to try this out? Feel free to share your screenshots/videos with the new Freestyle effects down below!
