How to unlock all trophies and achievements in Sonic Frontiers

Not necessarily a speedy experience, but certainly an easy one.

Players looking to obtain all achievements in Sonic Frontiers may wonder about the difficulty of this task. In all, Sonic Frontiers features 40 achievements to obtain, not counting the platinum trophy on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and one may assume that at least a few of them will require some serious effort. In general, though, barring a few annoyances, Sonic Frontiers’ achievement hunt is a relatively laid-back one. For the most part, obtaining every achievement simply requires more of a time commitment than anything else. This guide features a complete list of the achievements in Sonic Frontiers as well as some tips on how to acquire the more noteworthy ones.

Sonic Frontiers achievements and trophies guide

Main story achievements

  • The Journey Begins – Completed the Kronos Island tutorials.
  • The Beginning – Defeated the Titan and completed the main story on Kronos Island.
  • Ancient Defiance – Defeated the Titan and completed the main story on Ares Island.
  • Futile Resistance – Defeated the Titan and completed the main story on Chaos Island.
    • Would be fairly straightforward on its own, except that accessing the Titan battle on Chaos Island requires that you complete the area’s dreaded pinball minigame. Take a look at our guide on this segment to try and save yourself a headache or two.
  • Hope Across Ages – Defeated the Titan and completed the main story on Ouranos Island.
  • A Land at Peace – Defeated the final threat and completed the main story.
    • It does not seem that you need to defeat the true final boss on hard mode. If you want to learn more about it, though, you can check out this guide.

Map exploration achievements

  • Kronos Island Expert – Viewed all side stories on Kronos Island.
  • Ares Island Expert – Viewed all side stories on Ares Island.
  • Chaos Island Expert – Viewed all side stories on Chaos Island.
  • Ouranos Island Expert – Viewed all side stories on Ouranos Island
  • Expert Historian – Viewed all side stories.
    • Side stories refer to the conversations you can have with Sage and each island’s respective character all across the map. Sonic Frontiers requires that you complete some of these to progress in the story, but there exist several optional conversations hidden throughout each island. By completing challenges and unveiling more of the map, the game will mark the remaining side story locations for you. Of course, if you reveal every segment of the map, then this quest becomes much easier.
  • Kronos Island Explorer – Completed all challenges on Kronos Island and fully revealed the map.
    • Once again, the game marks every remaining challenge on your map, so this shouldn’t require too much aimless wandering around.
  • Ares Island Explorer – Completed all challenges on Ares Island and fully revealed the map.
  • Chaos Island Explorer – Completed all challenges on Chaos Island and fully revealed the map.
  • Ouranos Island Explorer – Completed all challenges on Ouranos Island and fully revealed the map.

Ability and progression achievements

  • Unrivaled Aptitude – Unlocked all skills.
  • Speed Demon – Activated a Power Boost for the first time.
    • The Power Boost refers to the major speed buff that players can obtain by collecting the maximum number of rings as indicated by their current ring capacity. Repeatedly cylooping the ground will reward infinite rings to the player, so reaching this state shouldn’t take much effort.
  • Combo Convert – Performed a Phantom Rush for the first time, outside of the training simulator.
  • Combo Crackerjack – Performed a Phantom Rush 50 times, outside of the training simulator.
  • Koco Leader – Gathered 200 Koco.
  • Elder Koco Encounter – Spoke with Elder Koco for the first time.
  • Hermit Koco Encounter – Spoke with Hermit Koco for the first time.
  • Herculean Hedgehog – Raised Power Level to MAX.
  • Hardened Hedgehog – Raised Defense Level to MAX.
    • Players can raise their attack and defense stats simply by giving the Hermit Koco red seeds of power and blue seeds of defense respectively.
  • Hearty Hedgehog – Raised Ring Level to MAX.
  • Hypersonic Hedgehog – Raised Speed Level to MAX.
    • Meanwhile, players hand the Koco they collect over to the Elder Koco to raise either their ring capacity or speed. For whatever reason, though, unlike the Hermit Koco, the Elder Koco only upgrades these stats by one every time you select one. If you want this achievement, be prepared to sit there for a long time.

Combat and miscellaneous achievements

  • Easy Prey – Defeated all enemy types.
  • Unknown Threat – Defeated a guardian for the first time.
  • Threats Identified – Defeated all guardian types.
    • Keep in mind that these guardian types include the recolored ones, such as Shinobi and Red Pillar, found on both the Chaos and Ouranos Islands. To find any you might have missed, simply check the locations of the red sword icons on your map.
  • Swaths of Destruction – Destroyed 100 breakable objects.
  • Celestial Rain – Encountered a starfall for the first time.

Portal and cyberspace achievements

  • Kronos Island Memories – Repaired all Portals on Kronos Island.
  • Ares Island Memories – Repaired all Portals on Ares Island.
  • Chaos Island Memories – Repaired all Portals on Chaos Island.
  • Ouranos Island Memories – Repaired all Portals on Ouranos Island.
    • Portals refer to the entrances to the cyberspace levels, which you can unlock with a certain number of Portal Gears. You mostly find Portal Gears by defeating guardians, although you can also find them hidden across the world and in Big the Cat’s fishing spots. The entrances to the fishing spots also count as portals.
  • Perfect Run – Completed all Missions in one Cyber Space area.
  • Superior Ranking – Achieved S Rank time, for the first time in a Cyber Space area.
    • Aside from the 1-2 cyberspace stage and maybe a few others, you can probably achieve most S Rank times in a few tries at most.
  • Big Encounter – Completed the fishing tutorial.
  • Ticket to Tranquility – Earned 100 Purple Coins.
    • The starfall events that occur at night every so often hand out a bunch of these at a time.
  • Angler’s Club – Landed all catches at one fishing spot.
    • Given the ease of collecting purple coins and the generous fish spawn rates, landing every catch in a fishing spot shouldn’t take too long.

By following this guide, you should hopefully get a hold of all of the achievements in Sonic Frontiers without too much hassle. You can get the PC version of Sonic Frontiers for $59.99 USD.
