Relic has been busy testing the multiplayer of Company of Heroes 2 for a number of weeks now with the closed beta testers but now it’s time for the masses to join the battle.

The open beta is set to start later today and will run until 18 June which is plenty of time to get to grips with the gameplay and units.  The open beta includes co-op and competitive multiplayer on six maps with the first 45 levels of the game’s progression and bulletin system.

It’s also important to note that open beta testers will keep all their progression and unlocks for the final game release if they buy the game within sixty days of launch and use the same Steam account.

Greg Wilson, Producer of Company of Heroes 2 commented: “We have been working hard since the Closed Beta balancing and improving all areas of the game as well as adding new matchmaking servers. COH2 has had one of the most successful Beta programs we’ve ever run at Relic and the support of the fans has been a critical factor in making the game more balanced and stable for launch.”

If you want to know more about the beta then give our gameplay videos a watch, they show just about everything you’ll want to know.
