Blizzard Open Shop In Singapore

Seeing as Battle.net is creating a new region for Blizzard entertainment’s players in South East Asia, Blizzard is opening up a new office in Singapore. The new office will offer technical support to players and also be the location for SEA Battle.net servers, reports Straits Times in Singapore. This is also where players from Australia and New Zealand will be connected to. This new server cluster will greatly reduce server latency, and it’s primarily started up for StarCraft II.

Singapore fans have already praised this decision on various forums, but Aussie and Kiwi players are less impressed being cut off from America and the rest of the world, since there will be no multiplaying between regions.

The California-based game developer and publisher said it is keen to expand its presence in this region, given the burgeoning gaming population.

The location, opening date and size of the office have yet to be decided, said Blizzard.
