Injunction Takes The Pirate Bay Offline

An injunction brought against the provider of the Pirate Bay’s bandwidth by several major Hollywood studios has taken the infamous torrent site offline.

Last week, Columbia Pictures, Disney Enterprises, Paramount Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox, Universal, and Warner Bros. obtained a collective injunction against ‘CB3ROB Ltd,’ the Berlin-based bandwidth provider. In response, CB3ROB Ltd has reportedly ceased routing until its lawyers have read and interpreted the legal documents.

The Pirate Bay has lost bandwidth providers in the past and tends to react by simply finding a new one.

TorrentFreak claim a Pirate Bay source has told them that the site has “already set the backup process in motion which will bring the site back online.”
