GOG launches Insomnia Fall promo, may get you free games

That wily purveyor of games both old and good, GOG, have started up what they call an Insomnia Fall promo in honour of the timezone changes messing up everyone unfortunate enough to live in a country with time changes.

Rather than offering up loads and loads of games at once, they’re offering one game at a time in very limited numbers, at stupidly high discounts. Right now, for instance, Deus Ex: Game of the Year edition is 80% off… but they only have 400 copies to sell, and they’re down to 132 left. Since I started writing this story, both The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav and Shelter have been on sale and have since vanished. Every time on game sells out, another replaces it.

There’ll be 101 games offered in total, and I have no idea how many are left. Some of them will apparently be discounted by 100%, which – in case you’re not mathematically inclined – means they’ll be free.

Go have a look at GOG’s main page and watch the promos appear and disappear at the top of the screen. Then weep as you miss a fantastic deal.

(On that note: Deus Ex is gone. Giana Sisters has replaced it, and will likely be gone by the time you read this. Yep! It’s now been replaced by Icewind Dale.)
