Unexpectedly, without any warning, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 has popped up on the Steam store, possibly accompanied by a sharp, sudden noise. Since the original title was basically constructed around jump scares and the crawling anticipation of jump scares, this seems entirely appropriate.

The first game dealt with the trials and tribulations of an overnight security guard, working at a Pizza chain definitely not based around the horrifying animatronic mascots of Showbiz Pizza. Since its main selling points were (1) jump scares and (2) alarming animatronic nightmare beasts, there was pretty much no way I was ever going to play it.

Same goes for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, which looks like it sends you right back to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza and forces you to monitor the cameras once again. Far as I can tell, this one gives you a flashlight and a mask. Presumably the latter gives you some paltry disguise that might fool the child-murdering horrors for a few seconds, but I’m not really sure.

I’d imagine the game is fairly similar overall, given that the first one only came out around August.

Here’s a trailer. It’ll probably show you more than you ever wanted to see from Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.
