Today’s Elite: Dangerous update went live earlier in the day (around 11am-midday UK time) and brought a couple of changes and fixes with it. It’s not a huge or dramatic list of alterations, that’s for sure, but there’s some useful stuff included.
Anybody playing the game on lower-end onboard graphics will be pleased to see a “crash fix” for those chipsets, and it sounds like a dodgy method for duplicating cargo (ie; cheating) has now been removed.
In addition, the patch notes state that Elite: Dangerous server maintenance will be switching from a daily schedule to a weekly one. That’ll reduce general down-time to just one period per week: 7am UTC on Thursdays. People should be fairly pleased about that.
Here are the update/patch notes for v1.07. It’s apparently just 22MB in size, so shouldn’t take at all long to download through the Elite launcher:
Client Changes:
– Crash fix for low end onboard graphics chipsets
– Block method for duplicating cargo
– Further death related telemetry
– Additional file telemetry for resource loading failure
Server Changes:
– the daily maintenance period is now weekly, the galaxy servers will be unavailable at 0700 UTC on Thursday mornings
– improve private groups and matchmaking at busier playing times
– fixed a rare cause of Commanders being unable to load into the game
