Left 4 Dead Custom Campaigns Update Incoming

Valve has updated its developer blog with news that a custom campaign update will be released next week.The next update for Valve’s zombie shooter is to focus on community-created custom campaigns. The update will include a re-tooled Left 4 Dead’s matchmaking system, easier to create lobbies by adding a ‘Create Lobby’ option directly from the ‘Play Online’ menu, and the Authoring tools/SDK. Content authors will also be able to place maps in a single .vpk package along with new posters, models, and textures.Budding mod authors should check out the developer wiki to find out how they can get creative with the game.
