We’re not only are we getting one, but two expansions to continue the story from the ending of Alan Wake 2. Let me dive into what we know about them so far.

Alan Wake 2 DLC paid expansions details and roadmap

Currently, the Alan Wake 2 FAQ has plenty of details on these two expansions and what they’re about. We don’t have a ton of details at the moment, but we do know a few things. Let me explain everything we know about the Alan Wake 2 DLC expansions.

There are currently two paid DLCs on the way:

  • Expansion 1: Night Springs
    • Visions and dreams. Fiction is written and coming true. Fiction collapses and remains just words on a page. These are those stories… in Night Springs.
    • Play as several familiar characters from the world of Alan Wake and experience the unexplainable in multiple self-contained episodes of Night Springs, a fictional TV show set in the world of Alan Wake.
  • Expansion 2: The Lake House
    • The Lake House is a mysterious facility situated on the shores of Cauldron Lake set up by an independent government organization to conduct secret research…until something goes wrong.
    • Explore the Lake House and embark on two separate adventures as the realities of Saga Anderson and Alan Wake collide again.

Both DLCs seem pretty different from one another. Night Springs is multiple self-contained episodes allowing you to play as several familiar characters, while The Lake House has you to play as Saga and Alan again on two separate adventures. The second expansion seems to be most similar to the main game, while the first looks like a very different DLC with new characters to control entirely.

When will the Alan Wake 2 DLCs release?

Confirmed by IGN on October 26, Remedy stated that the DLCs will arrive in 2024. Night Springs is set to release in late spring 2024, but The Lake House doesn’t have a release window yet. The first DLC expansion date is subject to change, due to the nature of game development.

Not only do you get to look forward to DLCs, but you can expect New Game Plus mode sometime post-launch. It seems like Remedy wants to keep bringing updates to Alan Wake 2 so players can look forward to future content like Nightmare difficulty and a new alternative narrative!
