This isn’t a part of the main mission, but it’s still a secret door that is begging for you to unlock it. If you’re like me and you’ve just got to know what’s behind every locked door, I’ll explain where to find this key.

You can easily miss this key location, so I don’t blame you if you’ve come here for help. There are a few locked doors in this hotel, but after completing my goal here, I still hadn’t unlocked Room 101. You can find the Room 101 key for the Oceanview Hotel in Alan Wake 2 in the small Break Room in the Ballroom.

When I unlocked the Ballroom for the first time, I somehow completely missed this Break Room. Not sure how, but I skipped past it, perhaps because I was running away from groups of Taken.

At some point during Initiation 5: Room 665, Alan will find himself in the Ballroom. It’s one of four main scene rooms you can alter through your Writer’s Room. As soon as you step inside, turn right, and you’ll find a small lit-up room.

This is a Break Room. Right beside the manual save area, you should see the Room 101 key on a table. Now head back to Room 101, and you’ll find some goodies.

There’s a new Writer’s Journey video on the television to add to the Writer’s Room, as well as some supplies in Stashes. Although this room isn’t required to complete the game, it’s nice to get some extra items before heading to your next mission.
