All Endgame Bosses in Diablo 4: Season of Blood

We’re in the Endgame now.

Since the release of Diablo 4, players have bemoaned the lack of meaningful endgame content it has to offer. Once you’ve finished the campaign, the game largely consists of running Nightmare Dungeons repeatedly to grind levels and gear, with a single endgame fight against Echo of Lilith as an outlet for all of that work and preparation. Season of Blood is changing all that, however, introducing five new major bosses that encourage players to engage in other systems, such as Tree of Whispers quests and Helltides. The following is a guide to all of these new Endgame Bosses in Diablo 4: Season of Blood.

All the new Endgame Bosses coming to Diablo 4 in Season of Blood

Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint

The first of the new endgame bosses is Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint. This lightning-themed foe can be summoned to fight by collecting enough Living Steel, a new item dropped by Tortured Offering chests during Helltide map events. Grigoire can be encountered this way in both World Tier 3 and World Tier 4. He has his own pool of as-of-yet-unrevealed unique items he can drop, and he can also drop the Demonbinder Mount Armor cosmetic, pictured above.

Echo of Varshan

Next up in the new boss lineup is Echo of Varshan. This is a more powerful version of Varshan the Consumed, the final boss of the Seasonal questline for Season of the Malignant. To summon him for battle you’ll need to collect his body parts, which can be gathered through completing Tree of Whispers objectives in the world. Parts can be gained as drops from Grotesque Debtor enemies encountered during these quests, and as guaranteed rewards in all Tree of Whispers collections you earn by trading in Grim Favors. You can summon Echo of Varshan using this method in World Tier 3 and World Tier 4, but for the latter you’ll need a Malignant Heart in addition to the other required parts. This boss can drop a selection of unique items, as well as the Flesh-Weld Rod Trophy.

The Beast in the Ice

Feel that chill in the air? That’s The Beast in the Ice, sneaking its way into Sanctuary. To face this new endgame boss, you’ll need to gather an item called Distilled Fear, which can be found in Nightmare Dungeons of Tier 30 or higher. Once you’ve gathered enough, you can use the Distilled Fear to craft a Glacial Fissure Nightmare Sigil at the Occultist, which you can then use to travel directly to The Beast in the Ice’s lair. This boss is only available on World Tier 4, and can drop a range of unique items as well as the Skull Torch and Fell Steed Mount Trophies.

Dark Master

Lord Zir, the primary antagonist of Season of Blood’s story content, can be fought once by progressing through said content, and again in the form of Endgame Boss the Dark Master. To do so, you’ll need to defeat World Bosses and complete Legion Events on World Tier 4, which will grant you an item called Exquisite Blood, a critical mass of which will let you bring forth the Dark Master for battle. Like the bosses above, he drops a range of uniques, as well as the Diadem of the Ancient Helm Cosmetic.

Echo of Duriel

Among all the new Endgame Bosses Diablo 4’s Season of Blood introduces, Echo of Duriel may be the most important. If you’ve completed Diablo 4’s campaign, you’ll remember facing off against Duriel during your attack on the city of Caldeum. This new version will pose significantly more of a challenge, however. In order to even challenge him, you’ll need to collect Mucus-Slick Eggs and Shards of Agony, two new items dropped by the World Tier 4 versions of Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint and Echo of Varshan, respectively. He has his own suite of unique items he can drop, like all of the new endgame bosses, as well as the Smoldering Brimstone Mount. However, Echo of Duriel also has the chance to drop Uber Uniques, such as the immensely powerful Grandfather sword, at a much higher rate than usual. In addition, as confirmed on the developer livestream for Season of Blood, any Uber Uniques dropped by Duriel will have their maximum possible Item Power, and their best possible rolls for each stat!

So there you have it: the lowdown on all five of the new Endgame Bosses in Diablo 4: Season of Blood. These serve both as outlets for high-level players to test their mettle against, and valuable sources of unique items for specific builds, and should shake the game up considerably when they emerge, along with the rest of Season of Blood, on October 17.
