With the release of Genshin Impact version 4.2, several new World Quests have been introduced in the Fontaine region.
World Quests are region-specific side quests that take you to different parts of a certain region to complete different tasks. These world quests are a good way to earn free Primogems in Genshin Impact. In this guide, I will show you all the Fontaine World Quests introduced to Genshin Impact through version 4.2.
Genshin Impact 4.2: All Fontaine World Quests and their location
Search in the Algae Sea
Search in the Algae Sea is the last series of the Narzissenkreuz Ordo questline, located at the Institute of Natural Philosophy at Fontaine. In this quest, you will need to interact with a few characters and investigate a few things to find out their real identity of Mary-Ann. This quest certainly took me on a journey, ending with an easter egg hunt to collect some seals.
The quest is a bit long, and you will be required to do some exploration to collect some seals towards the end of this quest. Completing this world quest will give you these rewards.

- x5 Hero’s Wit
- x500 Adventure EXP
The Wild Fairy of Erinnyes
The Wild Fairy of Erinnyes is the latest quest chain of Genshin Impact introduced through the release of version 4.2. To unlock the quest chain, head over to the Marcotte Station and interact with the stone tablet found at a fountain in this location.
The Wild Fairy of Erinnyes has four different sub-quests under it. By completing all the sub-quests of this quest chain, you will earn the following rewards.
- x100 Primogem
- x98,500 Mora
- x8 Hero’s Wit
- x4 Mystic Enhancement Ore
Free Verse
Head towards the travel point around the Opera Epiclese. I came across a dock where I found a little girl, a dog in a dress, and a cat with a black hat. They should be the quest givers.
Going near the little girl and interacting with her will start the quest. The Free Verse World Quest features the following rewards.

- x2 Hero’s Wit
- I Do Believe in Fairies achievement
Questioning Melusine and Answering Machine
Visit the Steambird Office in the Court of Fontaine to unlock the Questioning Melusine and Answering Machine World Quest. However, to make this quest available for you, make sure to complete the Ancient Colors World Quest and A Fontainian Message quest beforehand.
The Questioning Melusine and Answering Machine is a pretty long World Quest that is divided into three lengthy acts.

An Expected Plan
Before trying to unlock the ‘An Expected Plan’ world quest, you must first complete the Fontaine Research Institute Chronicles quest.
After completing the prerequisite quest, head to the Lumidouce Harbor and interact with the woman standing nearby. After completing the An Expected Plan quest, you will receive the following rewards.

Impromptu Poem of the Crimson Dawn
Use the Weeping Willow of the Lake teleport waypoint and head towards the Erinnyes Forest. Inside this forest, you will find a redhead in a cage. interact with this person to unlock the Impromptu Poen of the Crimson Dawn World Quest. Completing this quest will give you the following items as rewards.

- x37000 Mora
Wish-Fulfilling Treasure Hunt
You can only start the Wish-Fulfilling Treasure Hunt quest if you have already completed the In the Wake of Narcissus quest chain. If you have already finished this quest chain, use the teleport waypoint near the Fort Charybdis Ruins.
Now keep swimming towards the west, and you will find two characters called Urville and Nadia. Interact with Urville to start the Wish-Fulfilling Treasure Hunt. You can obtain the following rewards by completing the Wish-Fulfilling Treasure Hunt quest.

Through the Looking Glass
You can complete this World Quest only by interacting with six paintings in the Underwater Ruins. This gets a lot easier if you complete the Search in the Algae World Quest beforehand, as both of these quests take place in the same location. Completing the ‘Through the Looking Glass’ world quest will give you the following rewards.
