Everything in the Traitor Curse update in Darktide

The Traitor Curse Anniversary Update has included a lot of content. I’ll go over everything added in both halves for your reading pleasure.

The Traitor Curse updates added a new cinematic to herald the update, alongside numerous bug fixes and tweaks that I won’t be going over. Aside from that, here’s everything to look forward to.

The Carnival

Most notably, this update comes with the arrival of the Carnival, a new zone to explore.

There are new missions in this zone, so Darktide players finally have new content to play through and discover. It’s time we got a new zone and missions, and the Carnival hasn’t disappointed. It’s unique, fits the theme, and serves as another great stomping ground for you rejects.

The Karnak Twins

The Karnak Twins is a limited-time combat encounter. They were mentioned in the cinematic as two lieutenants leading this invasion.

These twins will ambush strike teams across tertium, providing excitement and even more excuses to bring out your best skills and equipment. It’s high time that Fatshark added something more dynamic to the battles in Darktide, and this may be the start of some rather interesting content if the Karnak Twins are received well.

Stimms

Stimms are an exciting new consumable that you can loot in your travels. There are four of the following kinds:

  • Health restoration
  • Damage boost
  • Speed increase
  • Cooldown reduction

I am quite excited to see these out and about in Tertium, I’m sure they’ll come in handy at the right moments. They’ll certainly provide an edge in critical moments, making it even easier to crush the toughest of heretics.

New Weapon Marks

New weapon marks have been released, adding to the large armory Darktide already boasts. These will improve and diversify your favorite weapons, and may make you glance twice at other weapon types you’ve previously disregarded. Make sure to check them out!

Inspecting Players

In the lobby, you can now inspect players. This makes the game a little more immersive, as you can walk around the Mournstar, inspect other players, and recruit them into your strike team. This is a minor feature, but one that places well into the game.

New Keystones for Veterans

This is more of a patch than anything, but Veteran players have new keystones since the update to complete Darktide’s class overhaul.

[REDACTED]

There is a final feature that remains hidden from us rejects. I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough…
