Blizzcon 2023 has kicked off with some major news for the World of Warcraft universe, as the series is heading in a new direction with the Worldsoul saga.
With three expansions outlined during the presentation, we’ll run through all the new content Blizzard has lined up for fans.
WoW Worldsoul Chapters – All Expansions Coming
The Worldsoul saga is the brand new storyline that Blizzard is venturing forward with for the next couple of years, and Chris Metzen announced the following three expansions in this saga.
For those who aren’t aware, Metzen rejoined the Warcraft team earlier in 2023 as the Lead Creative Director behind the entire Warcraft universe, and his announcement was met with a favorable reception.
World of Warcraft: The War Within
The War Within is going to be the first DLC players will get to embark on, as it will focus on the battle between the heroes and The Harbinger of the Void, Xal. Players will also get to check out the new Earthen Allied Race, alongside some new mechanics like…

- Hero Talents
- New Zones, Dungeons and Raids
We aren’t too sure when it’s going to release for players, but we do know it’ll come out sometime in 2024.
World of Warcraft: Midnight
Metzen proceeded to announce the 11th expansion in WoW’s saga, and this one is going to be called World of Warcraft: Midnight which will take players to the region of Quel’Thalas.
This is where players will discover new elven tribes that have been hidden from Azeroth up until now. The expansion will have a significant emphasis on the Void threat that looms over the heroes.
World of Warcraft: The Final Titan
Finally, we’re heading into the final DLC as part of the Worldsoul saga, The Last Titan, which appears to be the conclusion of WoW as we know it.
Furthermore, players will be heading back to zones such as Northrend and Ulduar, which we haven’t visited since Wrath of The Lich King. Players have already speculated that The Last Titan is the planet of Azeroth itself, as throughout the trailers we’ve seen thus far, there is a mysterious voice calling out to Anduin and Thrall.
