Asterigos: Curse of the Stars – Baraad boss guide (Black Streets)
Truth be told, Baraad is the third boss fight in Asterigos: Curse of the Stars (right after Ravenous the Giant Crocodile and a fella named “Strong Man.” However, the former is more of a tutorial battle, and the latter has a scripted conclusion. As such, Baraad acts as your first “proper” challenge in the campaign.
Most of Baraad’s regular melee swings are fairly slow and easily telegraphed. Still, if you’re not careful, they’re going to hurt Hilda a lot, especially since you’ve barely leveled up to increase your HP.
In any case, here are some of Baraad’s notable abilities and moves:
- Charging Rush – If you’re a bit further away, your foe will rush up and ram you.
- Leaping Smash – Alternatively, he can also jump and smash the ground where you’re standing.
- Flame Shower – After dropping his HP down to roughly 75%, he’ll infuse his melee swings with fire. Likewise, he’ll start lobbing flaming projectiles. Single projectiles have a homing effect, though he may also throw multiple fireballs in a frontal cone.
- Inferno – Baraad will strike the ground, causing flames to erupt and cascade outward. You’ll want to dodge toward him, timing it right so the iFrames allow you to negate the damage.
For skills, Stormbreaker will momentarily stun him. It costs a lot of AP, but you can follow up with several strikes. You can also shoot him from further away if you’ve got the staff weapon equipped. Just keep at it and you’ll defeat Baraad in Asterigos: Curse of the Stars.
Asterigos: Curse of the Stars is available via Steam.
