Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition is beautiful and requires Xbox to use three discs

Roll for initiative!

My personal GOTY, Baldur’s Gate 3, just got a Deluxe Edition and it is magnificent! It’s filled to the brim with physical and digital goodies, and hilariously, the Xbox edition requires you to use three discs to play the whole thing.

If you’re already on board with the “shut up and take my money” attitude, then you can go straight to pre-ordering the Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition. To do so, go to the Larian Studios BG3 site, scroll down, and select if you want to pre-order the PC, PS5, or Xbox version.

What platforms is Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition available on?

Surprisingly, the Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition is available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. I say surprisingly because BG3 isn’t currently out on Xbox Series X|S, but by the time it is out on that platform, the Deluxe Edition will be shipping out.

We do know that the release date of the Baldur’s Gate 3 Xbox version will be announced at The Game Awards. As mentioned earlier, the Xbox Deluxe Edition has three discs, the PlayStation 5 version has two discs, and the PC version has one disc. Good, better, best, I suppose.

Shipping for the BG3 Deluxe Edition will start in Q1 2024. Also, you don’t need to worry about not getting a BG3 Deluxe Edition. In correspondence to me from the PR team that works with Larian Studios, I learned that “It is not a Collector’s Edition, so players needn’t panic if they lose out on the initial batch.”

Is the Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition worth it?

In my opinion, the Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition is one of the best editions I’ve seen any developer put together ever. I think it’s marketed at an extremely fair, and honestly low, price for everything you get. Even if you already have Baldur’s Gate 3, I’d say the Deluxe Edition is one hundred percent worth it, especially if you want to play it on another platform.
