Similarly to the origin where you can create your own character, you can fully customize The Dark Urge. The answer to what The Dark Urge origin is in Baldur’s Gate 3 is a character who is compelled to make darker, more evil choices. The developers at Larian Studios wanted to fulfill some gamers’ desire to go towards an evil path in choice-based games. Essentially, you can fully lean into the urge to murder all of your party members, and anyone who crosses your path.

What’s really interesting about this character is their unknown past. You have no idea who you are, and the game tosses you into the story with only the urge to kill. The Dark Urge’s story seems quite compelling, since the live stream even detailed a Goblin that your murderous character connects to somehow.

Although the livestream showcased a unique looking Dragonborn, you can fully customize your Dark Urge character however you choose. Also, you can decide to fend off the urge to kill, or fully lean into it. Whatever you decide, The Dark Urge seems to be a pretty solid origin character.

If you’re a player who usually picks the heroic options in games, you may not enjoy playing The Dark Urge. Although, have you ever wanted to try the evil path but haven’t been brave enough to take the plunge? Now’s your chance.
