Best weapons in Payday 3

What to pick when you have a job to do.

As player levels increase, more weapons become available to suit every playstyle. In Payday 3, many value silence and stealth over everything else. There’s also a ton of heisters who know the only way to get the job done is to go loud and proud. Whatever category you fall into, there’s a weapon for you, and in this guide, I’ll show you the best weapons in Payday 3. These are early impressions; regardless of what I recommend, you should enjoy your favorites.

Best weapons in Payday 3

Most weapons are level-locked in Payday 3, but as one weapon on this list is available right at the beginning, let’s start there.

Signature 40

The Signature 40 is the default starting pistol and is a reliable sidearm. The gun is also viable for stealth runs, and you can slap a silencer on it immediately. While lacking firepower, it’s more than enough if you’re taking the sneaky approach. The Signature 40 can knock out cameras and kill guards with a single headshot. You can even fit a red dot sight on if you need it. When using this weapon, don’t forget to put another gun in your primary slot to level it up as you play.

SA A144

You may think the CAR-4 default primary weapon is good. At least, you might until you try the SA A144. This rifle does ridiculous damage and can floor the most formidable opponents with a well-placed headshot. If Snipers have been giving you grief, you don’t have to worry anymore, as you can delete them, even if they are miles away. The SA A144 does it all and instills fear into enemies, even up close.

KU-59

Ahem, KU-59? We all know that’s an AK! This weapon is an absolute monster and works extraordinarily well when fired from the hip. If you bask in the frenzy of a furious gunfight, this is for you. The KU-59 excels in mid-range engagements where you can down your foes without even looking down the sight. The playstyle may take a while to get used to, but it’s so much fun clearing rooms with this thing.

SP Model 11

I’ve already sung the Signature 40’s praise, but if you want to replace your trusty starter pistol, here’s a worthy successor. The SP Model 11 hits like a truck and still has a silencer for stealth missions. The big plus is if you screw up your ninja infiltration, you have the means to fight your way out.

VF-7S

What’s the point of grinding XP when so many decent guns are available early? If you’re looking for that carrot on a stick, look no further than the VF-7S. This monster assault rifle unlocks at Level 77 and has everything you could ever want from a superb primary weapon. The VF-7S is full auto with manageable recoil. It can also pop heads like the SA A144 and has a larger ammo count. It’s a fitting weapon for a veteran heister and worthy of its end-game status. If you’re looking for something reliable that will get the job done no matter the situation, look no further than the VF-7S.
