Invoke the Ancient's Power

Dungeons in Diablo 4 offers players an easy way to get some crucial Legendary Aspects for their builds. These Aspects always have the lowest stat roll available, but they are a valuable starting point, especially when your build is just coming together. If you’re a Barbarian, the Aspect of Ancestral Echoes may be right up your alley. Sound like you? Let me show you the Ancient Reservoir Dungeon location, Aspect, and rewards in Diablo 4.

You can find the Ancient Reservoir Dungeon in the Hawezar Region. It’s tricky to find as it won’t be revealed unless you’ve already traveled very close to it.

The Dungeon is just south of the Tree of Whispers (pictured above). The Tree offers the closes Waypoint as well. Just note that if you use the Pin function for directions, it gets a little confused when you leave the Tree of Whispers area. Keep opening your map if needed, but if you head southwest from the Tree and follow the route around, it won’t take long to reach on horseback.

How to beat the Ancient Reservoir Dungeon

Once you’ve located the Dungeon, your next quest is to head inside and defeat the boss. Fortunately, the Ancient Reservoir is quite straightforward. Although the layout is procedurally generated, the tasks are still the same.

Your first task is to defeat every enemy in the Tainted Aqueduct. There’s nothing too threatening down here, as you’ll mainly be dealing with Skeletons. Keep an eye on the map for red dots, and you should finish this task quickly.

Next, you must retrieve two ‘Ancients Statues’ and return them to a Pedestal deeper in the Dungeon. Like most collectibles, you can only carry one at a time, so you will need to backtrack a little. These Statues are easy to miss thanks to how small they are, so keep your eyes peeled.

Showdown with the Tomb Lord

Interact with the Monolith in the arena to summon the Tomb Lord. This boss is easy but has a few annoying abilities. The Tomb Lord frequently raises bone walls to stop you from getting close. When you close the distance, the boss can teleport away to safety, making it hard to land your best attacks.

The good news is the Tomb Lord doesn’t summon reinforcements, so with a bit of time and patience, the boss will go down. Upon completion, you’ll earn the Aspect of Ancestral Echoes.
