Diablo 4 How To Respec Skill Tree

How to respec skills and talents in Diablo 4

Experimentation is key.

Diablo 4‘s character skill trees and progression systems are vastly different from that of Diablo 3. The new installment of Blizzard’s classic action RPG series takes a more traditional approach with more traditional skill trees for each class. Of course, no traditional skill tree system would be complete without a respec mechanic. Using this mechanic, players refund all their skill points and reallocate them as they see fit. Fortunately, in Diablo 4, we can teach you how to respec skills and talents.

How to respec in Diablo 4 – explained

Respeccing in Diablo 4 is an incredibly simple process available from the first time you level up. To respec, simply bring up your skill tree interface, and click ‘Refund All’ at the bottom. This refunds your entire skill tree, every skill in it, and its ranks. Ranks are the extra points you put into skills after unlocking them, up to a max of five. Refunding your ranks as well essentially allows a fresh start, but there is another way to respec without starting all over.

If you right-click individual skills with points in them, you refund the individual points. This way, you respec individual skills without impacting the rest of your skill tree. Of course, if you have two skills that depend on each other, you need to reset that whole section of the tree.

Additionally, there is a cost to respeccing in Diablo 4. It’s free up to level 15, but after level 15, you’ll have to pay increasing amounts of gold for each respec. The higher your level, the more gold you must pay to respec.

Accordingly, refunding individual skill points costs significantly less than refunding the whole tree at once. I highly recommend getting all your skill experimentation out of the way before hitting level 15. If you wait too long to respec, you’ll have to pay exorbitant amounts of gold, but even then, it can be worth it to create the best sorcerer build.
