Diablo 4 livestream announces second open beta weekend in May

Round two!

Players loved Diablo 4’s first open beta weekend so much that they’re giving you another shot to play it before release. In a Developer Update livestream for Diablo 4, the team at Blizzard announced that a second open beta weekend will be happening in May. It will be called a Server Slam, and will give more opportunities to obtain exclusive rewards. While the game will release on June 6, Blizzard hosted a first open beta weekend in March, which turned out to be quite successful.

Second open beta weekend this May announced in Diablo 4 livestream

Diablo 4 is the next installment in Blizzard’s dark, action RPG series. During the weekend of May 12 to 14, Blizzard will open the Server Slam event. It’s called Server Slam due to the fact that the team wants more time to test out the servers. Anyone can jump into Diablo 4, it’s free for everyone and not just people who have pre-ordered the game.

In the Server Slam, the level cap is still Level 20. You can also earn rewards such as the ‘Beta Wolf Pack Cosmetic’. You’ll need to reach Level 20 for that reward, as well as the ‘Early Voyager Title’ and the ‘Cry of Ashava Mount Trophy’. Having three more days to play will give any player enough time to reach the level cap.

This Ashava mount is exclusive to the Server Slam weekend. To receive this horse, you’ll have to defeat the Ashava boss. On May 13 at 9 AM PDT, Ashava will spawn. Then, every three hours thereafter, you’ll have the chance to defeat Ashava if you missed out on it. The team also advises players to be at Level 20 to fight Ashava, since any low-level character will probably lose against this mount.

Blizzard revealed many other interesting announcements during this lengthy livestream, so make sure to check out the full video. Otherwise, make sure to pre-download Diablo 4 before the Server Slam weekend.
