Discord is now offering verified servers to game developers and publishers. The idea behind these servers is so players know they are in an official channel which is properly moderated and managed by a developer or publisher.
Verified servers also come with extras to help promote the server and provide custom branding. The owners will also be able to self-moderate the channels to stamp out any abuse with their own moderation rules. A set of guidelines and requirements have been posted for any publisher or developer interested in getting servers set up.
Players will be encouraged to use these verified servers to pick up the latest news and info on their favourite games. Think of them as another way to find out what’s going on while also engaging with the community through chat and voice.
A few games already have verified servers up and running including Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds. Expect many more of these to appear in the days ahead.
