Dragon’s Dogma 2 Disa’s Plot quest guide: How to infiltrate the Vernworth Castle Offices

Not as complicated as it looks.

One of Captain Brant’s many missions to unravel the Queen Regent Disa in Dragon’s Dogma 2 includes you having to sneak into the Vernworth Castle Offices to find evidence of any misdeeds. Although Brant unlocks the office during the night, infiltrating the castle is a challenge indeed.

Sneaking into Vernworth Castle in Dragon’s Dogma 2

The Disa’s Plot quest isn’t long, but figuring it out on your own can add some padding to its length. Captain Brant tells you that Vernworth Castle Offices will remain unlocked during midnight and dawn for you to sneak into. This requires you to enter Vernworth Castle grounds at night, however, which will get you thrown in Gaol if caught. Brant won’t be able to help you in that case, so you will have to escape.

Before you even think about sneaking into Vernworth Castle, I would strongly advise you to visit the castle during the day. You’ll be allowed entry during day hours. You can even walk up to the Vernworth Castle Offices on the second floor. Mentally mapping out the way to the office beforehand would be wise.

When undertaking the task of infiltrating Vernworth Castle, you may be led to believe that you must somehow sneak in through a secondary entrance, or even through Gaol. This isn’t true. Despite the warning that’ll likely pop up when you enter the castle at night, you should keep going.

At the entrance of the castle grounds is a guard under Brant’s command. She’ll hail you, and she’ll escort you to the Guardhouse. It is from here that you’ll be inside Vernworth Castle.

Although you’ll be safe walking past the guards by Sonia’s side, you won’t have the same luxury inside Vernworth Castle. If you’ve remembered the way to the office, then you should be able to walk over with minimal trouble.

I do have an optimal route though if you’d rather stay safe.

Reaching Disa’s Office in Dragon’s Dogma 2

The path to the Vernworth Castle Offices in Dragon’s Dogma 2 from the Guardhouse is rather simple – if you know where you’re going. The office is on the second floor, but you can’t take the stairs right outside the Guardhouse, as there is a guard. However that was the only guard I saw on my journey, so don’t worry about sneaking around too much.

Exit the Guardhouse and go right, under the arch. Enter the Audience Hall, which is behind the giant doors to your right. It’ll be on your map if you need more a precise direction.

The moment you enter the Audience Hall, stop. To your left is a tunnel. Walk through it and look right – there’ll be an arch with some stairs beyond.

Go up both sets of stairs. Now on the second floor, the Vernworth Castle Offices should appear on your map.

Keep going forward and take a left, the previously locked door is now unlocked and you can enter the Vernworth Castle Offices freely.

Finishing Disa’s Plot in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Once you’ve entered the Vernworth Castle, an item will be highlighted. Grabbing it will reveal it to be a Torn Letter – just the piece of evidence you were hoping for. However, you won’t simply be allowed to leave. Sven, Disa’s son, will enter the room.

But don’t worry, it’ll turn out that even Sven caught-on to Disa’s malplay. In a cutscene, it’s implied that you tell Sven everything, and he’ll promise to do some investigating and report his findings to Brant. With another ally on the inside, your scheme just got another bit easier.

Sven’s absence will trigger suspicion among the guards, so you must make your escape there and then. Sven leaves the room to distract the guards, then the camera pans meaningfully to some open windows.

Walk over to the windows and leave. You’ll skid down the roof back onto the castle grounds. Your only means of escape is the entrance you came in from, but this time you don’t have a guard escort to weave through the many guards in your way.

Despite this, my walk back was very easy. I kept my distance as much as I could and tried to stick to darkness, but I couldn’t help the feeling that it didn’t matter. In the end, I simply ran out the exit to rejoin my Pawns, and the castle guards did nothing about it. I’d advise caution, but it didn’t seem like the guards cared about my presence.

All you must do now is report back to Captain Brant at the inn. It should still be dark for him to be there when you get back. Tell him of what you found and give him the Torn Letter.

Well done, Arisen. Queen Regent Disa is another step closer to her carefully planned demise. You should likely see to that Caged Magistrate if you haven’t already.
