Free Streets of Rage remake released

It’s been a long time in the making (eight years, in fact,) but the Streets of Rage Remake project has finally been released by a small team calling themselves Bombergames.
This ‘final’ version (v5) is PC-only, but the creators have plans for a Linux and Wii Homebrew release too. For the exhaustive run-down on the features of this title, you’ll be wanting to take a look at this Bombergames blog post. In short, though, it combines Streets of Rage 1, 2 and 3, plus the Gamegear one, into a delicious combo-package of a game.

That means classic side-scrolling beat-em-up action, with chiptunes galore. All for the glorious price of nothing at all. It’s also worth mentioning that this project had SEGAs blessing, so it’s not about to be shut down without warning.
Grab the 220mb download here. Use one of the mirrors listed there, because I think the main download has collapsed under the strain of people using it.
